Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AVPLASE is a biosimilar recombinant tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) developed by Avestha Gengraine Technologies for the treatment of cardiovascular disorders, including acute myocardial infarction and deep vein thrombosis (DVT). As a fibrinolytic agent, it functions by mimicking the endogenous enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of plasminogen to plasmin. Plasmin subsequently degrades the fibrin matrix of blood clots, thereby facilitating thrombolysis and restoring blood flow in occluded vessels. According to company pipeline information, AVPLASE has received approval to enter clinical stages and is positioned as a biosimilar to existing tPA therapies like alteplase.
