Overview

AVR-001 is an orally administered peptide antagonist of the interleukin-23 receptor (IL-23R), developed by Avere Therapeutics. By binding to the IL-23 receptor, the drug inhibits IL-23-mediated signaling, a key pathway in the pathogenesis of various autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. AVR-001 is designed to provide the efficacy of injectable biologics with the convenience of oral administration. It has completed Phase 1 multiple ascending dose (MAD) studies and is being developed for the treatment of plaque psoriasis, ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease, and psoriatic arthritis.
