Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AVT-011 is a fluorine-18 labeled positron emission tomography (PET) radiotracer designed to non-invasively image and quantify the function of ATP-binding cassette (ABC) efflux transporters, specifically P-glycoprotein (Pgp/ABCB1) and breast cancer resistance protein (BCRP/ABCG2). Developed by Avaant Imaging in collaboration with academic institutions including the University of Oxford, Karolinska Institutet, UCLA, and NIMHANS, AVT-011 acts as a dual ABCB1/ABCG2 substrate. It is utilized to detect and monitor multidrug resistance (MDR) and chemoresistance in tumors, such as breast cancer, as well as to evaluate transporter function at the blood-brain barrier.
