AVX-176

AVX-176 is an investigational, orally administered polyclonal anti-gluten antibody therapy developed by Avaxia Biologics for the treatment of celiac disease. It is designed to be taken with meals, where the antibody binds dietary gluten in the gastrointestinal lumen and neutralizes or sequesters immunogenic gluten peptides before they can trigger the pathogenic immune response in celiac patients.[3][5][7][11][12] AVX-176 is covered by U.S. composition-of-matter patent 8,071,101, titled “Antibody Therapy for Treatment of Diseases Associated with Gluten Intolerance,” which provides broad protection for using orally delivered antibodies generated via Avaxia’s proprietary platform to treat celiac disease and related gluten-intolerance conditions.[7][11][12]
