AVX-470

AVX-470 is an orally administered, bovine-derived polyclonal antibody that targets and neutralizes tumor necrosis factor (TNF). It is designed to act locally in the gastrointestinal tract, minimizing systemic exposure and associated risks. The drug was developed for the treatment of inflammatory bowel diseases, particularly ulcerative colitis. Unlike systemically administered anti-TNF agents, AVX-470’s oral delivery allows it to suppress inflammation directly at the site of disease in the gut. Clinical studies have shown that it is well tolerated with no significant safety signals or immunogenicity concerns and demonstrated trends toward efficacy in clinical response, endoscopic improvement, and reduction of inflammatory biomarkers such as CRP and IL‑6[1][2][5][6].
