Overview

AVX502 is an investigational alphavirus replicon-based vaccine developed by AlphaVax for the prevention of seasonal influenza. The vaccine expresses the hemagglutinin (HA) protein from the Influenza A/Wyoming/03/2003 strain using a proprietary alphavirus vector platform. Its mechanism of action is immunostimulation—eliciting both antibody and T cell responses against influenza virus antigens. AVX502 has been evaluated in Phase II clinical trials for the prevention of influenza virus infections, including studies in adults and elderly populations[1][2][5].
