Overview

**AVX601** is an investigational bivalent alphavirus replicon particle vaccine developed by AlphaVax for prevention of human cytomegalovirus infection. The vaccine expresses three cytomegalovirus antigens—glycoprotein B, phosphoprotein 65, and immediate-early protein 1—to induce antigen-specific humoral and cellular immune responses. It was evaluated in a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled Phase 1 study in CMV-seronegative healthy volunteers using intramuscular and subcutaneous administration; the registered study was completed.
