AVXXXX

AVXXXX is a preclinical-stage, CNS-penetrant small molecule inhibitor of the CD38 enzyme (ADP-ribosyl cyclase/cyclic ADP-ribose hydrolase 1) being developed by Aeovian Pharmaceuticals. Chemically characterized as a tricyclic fused imidazole compound, AVXXXX is specifically engineered to cross the blood-brain barrier to address neurodegenerative conditions. By inhibiting CD38, the drug aims to prevent the depletion of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+), thereby supporting cellular energy metabolism and reducing neuroinflammation. This candidate is part of Aeovian's broader CD38 program, which also includes the peripheral candidate AV1015, and is currently in the discovery or preclinical phase for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases.
