Overview
**AVZO-021 + carboplatin** is an investigational combination therapy being evaluated for the treatment of advanced or metastatic solid tumors, including refractory or resistant CCNE1-amplified ovarian cancer. AVZO-021 is a highly potent and selective, orally available cyclin-dependent kinase 2 (CDK2) inhibitor, developed to overcome resistance driven by cyclin E1 (CCNE1) amplification seen in multiple tumors, especially epithelial ovarian cancer. Carboplatin is a widely used platinum-based DNA-damaging chemotherapeutic agent. The combination aims to leverage the cell-cycle checkpoint inhibition by AVZO-021 alongside the cytotoxic effect of carboplatin. AVZO-021 is currently being studied in Phase 1/2 clinical trials in various solid tumors as monotherapy and in combination regimens, including with carboplatin in patients who have failed standard therapies[1][3][7].
