Overview
AWT038 is a preclinical-stage bispecific antibody being developed by Anwita Biosciences for the treatment of cancer cachexia in patients with solid tumors. The drug functions as a dual-action agent, acting as a GDF15 trap to neutralize Growth/differentiation factor 15 and simultaneously blocking Interleukin-6 (IL-6) signaling. This combined mechanism is designed to counteract the metabolic dysfunction, weight loss, and inflammatory signaling pathways that drive cancer-associated cachexia. By targeting both GDF15 and IL-6, AWT038 aims to provide a synergistic approach to improving the quality of life and outcomes for patients suffering from tumor-induced wasting syndromes.
