Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AX-009 is a conditioned mesenchymal stem cell (cMSC) therapy being developed by Axiom Biosciences for the treatment of ischemic stroke. The therapy is based on the secretome of mesenchymal stem cells, which contains a diverse array of bioactive molecules including growth factors, cytokines, and extracellular vesicles. These components work synergistically to promote neuroprotection, modulate the immune response, and stimulate angiogenesis and tissue repair in the brain following an ischemic event. By using the conditioned media rather than the cells themselves, AX-009 aims to provide the regenerative benefits of stem cell therapy with improved safety and ease of administration. It is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
