AX-10

AX-10 is an experimental small molecule agonist of the Transient Receptor Potential Melastatin 8 (TRPM8) channel, currently under development by Axalbion. It is being investigated for the treatment of refractory chronic cough and dry eye syndrome. TRPM8 is a temperature-sensitive ion channel that responds to cold temperatures and cooling agents like menthol. By activating TRPM8 receptors on sensory nerve fibers in the oropharynx and the ocular surface, AX-10 aims to provide a cooling effect that inhibits the signaling pathways responsible for the urge to cough and ocular discomfort. While AX-10 is part of Axalbion's TRPM8 program alongside the more advanced candidate AX-8, specific clinical data and development phases for AX-10 have not been extensively disclosed.
