Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AX-202 is a fully humanized, high-affinity monoclonal antibody developed to neutralize the bioactivity of S100A4, a protein implicated in driving persistent fibrogenesis and inflammation. By binding to and blocking S100A4, AX-202 aims to modulate the self-sustaining feedback loop that underlies chronic inflammatory and fibrotic diseases. Preclinical studies have shown that S100A4 amplifies fibroblast activation, sensitizes cells to TGF-beta signaling, drives epithelial-mesenchymal transition, and stimulates cytokine release from monocytes. Elevated levels of S100A4 are associated with disease activity in conditions such as systemic sclerosis (SSc) and psoriasis. AX-202 is being investigated primarily for its potential in treating inflammatory diseases like plaque psoriasis and fibrotic disorders[1][3][4][5]. Developed by Arxx Therapeutics.
