Overview

AXA-NK02a is an investigational, small-molecule–regulated B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA) chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) natural killer (NK) cell therapy designed for the treatment of BCMA-expressing B‑cell malignancies such as multiple myeloma. In preclinical models, AXA-NK02a incorporates a chemically controllable CAR expression “switch” to modulate BCMA-CAR levels on NK cells with an exogenous small molecule, aiming to enhance antitumor activity while improving safety and controllability of CAR effector function. In vivo studies have shown that AXA-NK02a can achieve rapid and profound inhibition of Jeko-1 tumor growth with robust antitumor efficacy, highlighting its potential as a next-generation, regulatable NK cell immunotherapy for hematologic cancers.[1]
