axalimogene filolisbac

Axalimogene filolisbac is a live, attenuated *Listeria monocytogenes*-based immunotherapy engineered to express the HPV type 16 E7 oncoprotein fused to a truncated fragment of listeriolysin O. It is designed as a therapeutic cancer vaccine for HPV-associated cancers. The drug works by infecting antigen-presenting cells and stimulating an immune response against cells expressing the HPV E7 protein, thereby promoting cytotoxic T cell-mediated destruction of tumor cells. Developed originally by Advaxis (now part of Ayala Pharmaceuticals), it has been investigated primarily for cervical cancer but also in anal and oropharyngeal cancers[1][3][5][6][8].
