**Axatilimab + durvalumab** is a combination of two monoclonal antibodies: axatilimab, a high-affinity IgG4 antibody targeting macrophage colony-stimulating factor 1 receptor (CSF-1R), and durvalumab, a human IgG1 antibody that inhibits the programmed cell death 1 ligand 1 (PD-L1) on tumor cells and immune cells. Axatilimab reduces activity and recruitment of pathogenic macrophages, particularly relevant in fibrotic and inflammatory conditions, while durvalumab acts as an immune checkpoint inhibitor to restore anti-tumor immune responses by blocking PD-L1-mediated T-cell inhibition.
