The Axon Neuroscience tau antibody program is a discovery-stage research initiative focused on the development of a panel of monoclonal antibodies targeting pathological forms of the tau protein. These antibodies are engineered to recognize distinct epitopes, including both phosphorylation-dependent and phosphorylation-independent sites, which are associated with the progression of Alzheimer's disease and various other tauopathies. By binding to these pathological tau species, the antibodies are intended for use in both diagnostic assays and therapeutic strategies aimed at neutralizing toxic tau and preventing the spread of neurofibrillary tangles in the brain.
