Overview

AXT-2003 is a preclinical-stage small molecule combination therapy being developed by Axter Therapeutics for the treatment of prostate cancer. The drug candidate combines an EZH2 (Enhancer of zeste homolog 2) inhibitor with an androgen receptor (AR) inhibitor. This dual-mechanism approach aims to suppress complementary growth pathways in prostate cancer cells, potentially addressing resistance to standard androgen deprivation therapies. EZH2 is an epigenetic enzyme that promotes cancer progression and lineage plasticity, while the androgen receptor is the primary driver of prostate cancer growth.
