AXTRIOL-B

AXTRIOL-B is a topical combination pharmaceutical product developed and manufactured by Hoe Pharmaceuticals. It is formulated as an ointment containing two active ingredients: calcitriol, a synthetic vitamin D3 analogue, and betamethasone dipropionate, a potent synthetic corticosteroid. Calcitriol works by binding to the vitamin D receptor (VDR), which inhibits the excessive proliferation of keratinocytes and induces their normal differentiation, addressing the underlying cellular pathology of psoriasis. Betamethasone dipropionate acts as a glucocorticoid receptor agonist, providing anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive properties that reduce the clinical symptoms of skin inflammation. AXTRIOL-B is primarily indicated for the treatment of chronic plaque-type psoriasis (psoriasis vulgaris).
