Overview

AZD0171 (INN: Falbikitug) is a humanized monoclonal antibody of the IgG1 subclass developed by AstraZeneca. It targets leukemia inhibitory factor (LIF), binding with high affinity to LIF and blocking its signaling through the LIF receptor. This mechanism modulates tumor-associated macrophages and inhibits cancer stem cell function, promoting antitumor inflammation within the tumor microenvironment. Preclinical studies demonstrated efficacy in murine cancer models and patient-derived xenografts. Clinical trials have evaluated AZD0171 as monotherapy and in combination with durvalumab (an anti–PD-L1 antibody) plus standard chemotherapy for advanced solid tumors such as pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma and non-small-cell lung cancer[2][5][6]. The drug is administered intravenously.
