Overview

AZD0305 is a first-in-class antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) developed by AstraZeneca for the treatment of relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma. It specifically targets G protein-coupled receptor class 5 member D (GPRC5D), a protein highly expressed on myeloma cells. By binding to GPRC5D, AZD0305 delivers a cytotoxic payload directly to malignant plasma cells, leading to their destruction. In addition to its direct cytotoxic effects, it may also induce tumor cell killing through antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity. The drug is currently being evaluated in Phase I/II clinical trials as both monotherapy and in combination with other anticancer agents for patients who have exhausted standard treatment options.
