Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**AZD0708** is an investigational oral small-molecule PCSK9 inhibitor developed by AstraZeneca for hypercholesterolemia. It binds to a novel pocket in the PCSK9 C-terminal domain, inhibiting lysosomal trafficking of the PCSK9-LDLR complex to prevent LDLR degradation and enhance LDL clearance. In early clinical studies, it achieved up to 52% LDL-C reduction when added to rosuvastatin.[8]
