Overview

AZD5315 is an investigational biologic vaccine being developed to provide protection against certain strains of avian Influenza A, specifically the H5N1 and H7N9 subtypes. AZD5315 is being studied as a monovalent vaccine as part of the PANDA trial (Phase 1/2), alongside AZD4117, to evaluate its safety and immunogenicity in adults. The vaccine is administered intramuscularly. Clinical development is led by AstraZeneca in collaboration with the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA) and the Joint Program Executive Office (JPEO) Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Defense (CBRND) Enabling Biotechnologies (EB)[2][3][5][6][10]. Detailed composition, mechanism of action, and technology platform (such as protein subunit, mRNA, recombinant viral vector, etc.) have not been disclosed in public sources as of the given date.
