AZD8359

AZD8359 is an experimental bispecific T-cell engaging antibody developed by AstraZeneca for the treatment of metastatic prostate cancer. It is designed to simultaneously target Six-Transmembrane Epithelial Antigen of the Prostate 2 (STEAP2) on tumor cells and the CD8 coreceptor on cytotoxic T cells. By recruiting CD8+ T cells directly to STEAP2-expressing cancer cells, AZD8359 facilitates the formation of an immunological synapse and subsequent T-cell mediated lysis of the tumor. This CD8-guided approach aims to selectively activate the cytotoxic arm of the immune system, potentially offering improved efficacy and a more favorable safety profile compared to traditional CD3-based T-cell engagers.
