Overview

AZD9793 is a first-in-class trispecific T-cell engager (TriTE) antibody developed by AstraZeneca for the treatment of advanced or metastatic solid tumors, with a primary focus on hepatocellular carcinoma. It is designed to target glypican-3 (GPC3) on tumor cells and recruit CD8+ T cells via CD8 engagement while also modulating the T-cell receptor (TCR). This selective recruitment aims to enhance cytotoxic potency against GPC3-positive tumor cells and minimize cytokine release syndrome by reducing CD4+ T cell activation. The drug is administered intravenously or subcutaneously and is currently being evaluated in Phase 1/2 clinical trials as monotherapy for patients with advanced solid tumors, particularly hepatocellular carcinoma[1][2][4][5].
