Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Flutiaze is a combination nasal spray containing azelastine hydrochloride (an antihistamine) and fluticasone propionate (a corticosteroid). Developed by Getz Pharma as a generic version of Dymista, it is indicated for the symptomatic relief of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis in adults and pediatric patients. Azelastine works by blocking histamine H1 receptors and stabilizing mast cells to rapidly alleviate symptoms like sneezing, itching, and runny nose. Fluticasone propionate is a potent glucocorticoid receptor agonist that reduces inflammation, swelling, and mucus production in the nasal passages. Together, the two active ingredients provide rapid and synergistic relief from nasal allergy symptoms.
