Overview

**Azemist** is a marketed metered-dose intranasal fixed-dose combination of azelastine hydrochloride 0.1% and fluticasone propionate 0.0357%, manufactured by Kaizen Pharmaceuticals. It combines an H1 antihistamine with an intranasal corticosteroid for symptomatic treatment of allergic rhinitis, including nasal congestion, sneezing, rhinorrhea, and nasal itching. Azelastine inhibits histamine H1 receptor-mediated allergic symptoms, while fluticasone propionate activates glucocorticoid receptors to suppress inflammatory-cell and inflammatory-mediator activity in the nasal mucosa.
