Azitromicina Globo

Azitromicina Globo is a generic formulation of the macrolide antibiotic azithromycin, developed and marketed by Laboratório Globo S.A. in Brazil. As an azalide subclass member, it functions by binding to the 23S rRNA of the bacterial 50S ribosomal subunit, thereby inhibiting protein synthesis. It is primarily indicated for a wide range of bacterial infections, including respiratory tract infections (bronchitis, pneumonia, sinusitis, and tonsillitis), skin and soft tissue infections, acute otitis media, and sexually transmitted infections caused by organisms such as Chlamydia trachomatis, Haemophilus ducreyi, and Neisseria gonorrhoeae. It is available as 500 mg coated tablets.
