Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AZULOXA is an oral small molecule medication developed by Kotobuki Pharmaceutical for the treatment of gastric ulcers and gastritis. Its active ingredient is azuletil sodium (KT1-32), an azulene derivative. The drug functions as a mucosal protective agent that promotes the healing of gastric lesions by stimulating blood vessel regeneration and accelerating the repair of the gastric mucosa. It has been approved and marketed in Japan and South Korea, and is available in both granule (2.5%) and tablet (15mg) formulations. AZULOXA is sometimes used in combination therapy with H2 receptor antagonists to enhance therapeutic outcomes in peptic ulcer management.
