Overview

Azvudine + dolutegravir is a combination of **two antiretroviral agents** that target human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). **Azvudine** is a nucleoside analog reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI), disrupting viral replication by acting as a faulty substrate for reverse transcriptase, whereas **dolutegravir** is an integrase strand transfer inhibitor (INSTI) that blocks integration of viral DNA into the host genome. This dual mechanism attacks HIV at two different stages of its replication cycle, aiming to suppress viral load and delay disease progression. Azvudine has been primarily developed and approved in China as an NRTI, and dolutegravir is widely used internationally, recommended by WHO as a preferred core agent in many HIV treatment regimens. This combination is intended as an antiretroviral therapy for HIV-1 infection, aiming for potent, well-tolerated, and convenient treatment. There is no widely recognized fixed-dose product or branded formulation for azvudine + dolutegravir as of this time.
