AZX1101

**AZX1101** is an oral, locally acting recombinant beta-lactamase enzyme preparation of bacterial origin originally developed by AzurRx for protection of the gastrointestinal microbiome during treatment with intravenous beta-lactam antibiotics. It is intended to enzymatically inactivate antibiotic molecules that enter the intestinal tract, thereby limiting antibiotic-mediated disruption of commensal gut flora and potentially reducing antibiotic-associated diarrhea, *Clostridioides difficile* infection, and selection of resistant bacteria.
