Azyr Mega

Azyr Mega is a nutraceutical supplement formulation containing omega-3 fatty acids (DHA and EPA) combined with the AREDS2 formula components, which include lutein, zeaxanthin, astaxanthin, vitamin C, vitamin E, zinc, and copper. It was investigated by the Università degli Studi di Brescia in a Phase 4 randomized clinical trial (NCT03355638) as an adjunctive therapy to intravitreal aflibercept (Eylea) for the treatment of neovascular (exudative) age-related macular degeneration (nAMD). The supplement is designed to provide antioxidant and anti-inflammatory support to the retina, aiming to mitigate oxidative stress and inflammation associated with choroidal neovascularization. Clinical results indicated that patients receiving Azyr Mega in combination with aflibercept required significantly fewer anti-VEGF injections over a 12-month period compared to those receiving aflibercept monotherapy.
