Drug intelligence / Profile preview
B-9 plus capsules is an approved oral nutraceutical and small molecule combination product developed by Juggat Pharma, a division of Jagdale Industries. Each capsule contains three active ingredients: elemental iron (50 mg, in the form of carbonyl iron), folic acid (0.5 mg), and zinc sulfate monohydrate (61.8 mg, equivalent to 22.5 mg of elemental zinc). It is indicated for the treatment and prevention of iron deficiency anemia, nutritional deficiencies, and dietary insufficiency, as well as for nutritional support during pregnancy and lactation to promote fetal growth and development. Carbonyl iron provides a highly pure, easily absorbed form of iron with low gastrointestinal irritation to support hemoglobin production. Folic acid (Vitamin B9) is essential for DNA synthesis and red blood cell maturation, while zinc is a critical cofactor for cellular growth and immune function. The product is marketed as an over-the-counter dietary supplement in India.
