B-N10 is a murine monoclonal antibody designed to target and neutralize interleukin-10 (IL-10). Developed by Diaclone, it was primarily investigated for the treatment of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), a condition where IL-10 is overproduced and contributes to B-lymphocyte hyperactivity and autoantibody production. By binding to circulating IL-10, B-N10 inhibits the cytokine's signaling, which in clinical studies led to significant reductions in the SLE Disease Activity Index (SLEDAI) and allowed for a decrease in corticosteroid dosages. However, as a murine-derived antibody, its clinical utility is limited by the development of human anti-mouse antibodies (HAMA) in treated patients.
