Drug intelligence / Profile preview
B-PKOPO is a physical blend of palm kernel oil and palm oil, characterized by a fatty acid composition similar to Medium-and-Long Chain Triacylglycerol (MLCT). It has been investigated in studies for its potential anti-obesity effects. Research in Diet Induced Obesity (DIO) C57BL/6J mice compared B-PKOPO to other MLCTs, noting its influence on body weight gain and body fat accumulation. However, it was also observed to be hypercholesterolemic compared to commercial MLCTs, a characteristic attributed to its higher myristic acid content.
