Drug intelligence / Profile preview
B1 is a pharmaceutical-grade sublingual tablet formulation of a plant-derived cannabis extract developed by Breath of Life International Pharma Ltd (BOL Pharma). Each tablet contains a specific ratio of cannabinoids, specifically 40 mg of cannabidiol (CBD) and 2 mg of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). B1 is being evaluated for its safety and pharmacokinetic profile in Phase 1 clinical trials, with intended applications in treating neurodevelopmental and chronic pain conditions, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and neuropathic pain. The therapeutic effect is mediated through the modulation of the endocannabinoid system, where THC acts as a partial agonist at CB1 and CB2 receptors, and CBD interacts with various non-cannabinoid targets such as 5-HT1A receptors and GPR55, providing potential anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and behavioral-modulating effects.
