Drug intelligence / Profile preview
B11-FC is a chimeric antibody that combines a camelid VHH (single-domain antibody) called B11 with a human Fc fragment. It is designed to neutralize botulinum neurotoxin type A (BoNT/A), providing protection against botulism. The B11 component specifically binds to BoNT/A, while the human Fc fragment enhances circulation time in blood and improves protective activity. Preclinical studies have shown that B11-FC can protect animals from lethal doses of botulinum toxin at extremely low doses.
