Overview

B16F10 cell vaccine is an experimental whole-cell cancer vaccine derived from the B16F10 murine melanoma cell line. It is typically prepared by inactivating the cells, such as through repeated freeze-thaw cycles or irradiation, to release a broad spectrum of tumor-associated antigens (TAAs) while rendering the cells non-tumorigenic. The vaccine is designed to stimulate the host's immune system, specifically inducing natural killer (NK) cell cytotoxicity and the production of anti-tumor cytokines like interferon-gamma (IFN-γ). Research indicates that Mucin 1 (MUC1) is a critical immunogenic component of this vaccine, and its presence is essential for the induction of effective anti-melanoma immune responses in mouse models. It is primarily used as a research tool to study tumor immunology and evaluate candidate target antigens for melanoma vaccine development.
