Overview

B201 acetate (Breceptin) is a synthetic peptide dimer of a decapeptide developed by ApopLogic Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of various solid tumors. It acts as a dual antagonist of the bradykinin B1 and B2 receptors. By targeting these receptors, which are often overexpressed on cancer cells, the drug directly induces apoptosis (programmed cell death). Additionally, B201 acetate modulates the tumor microenvironment by targeting inflammatory cells and factors that promote tumor growth and metastasis. It has been investigated for several indications, including small cell lung cancer (SCLC), hormone-refractory prostate cancer (HRPC), and non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
