B2278 is an investigational allogeneic cell therapy consisting of human umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells (HucMSCs), developed by Tasly Pharmaceutical Group. It is designed for the treatment of chronic heart failure (CHF) resulting from chronic ischemic cardiomyopathy (CICM). The therapy is administered via intramyocardial injection, often in conjunction with coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) surgery. B2278 exerts its therapeutic effects through paracrine signaling, which promotes the polarization of macrophages toward a reparative (M2) phenotype, stimulates angiogenesis, and inhibits inflammatory responses. These mechanisms aim to facilitate myocardial repair and improve overall cardiac function in patients with end-stage ischemic heart disease.
