This drug is an experimental combination immunotherapy involving co-expression of three immunostimulatory molecules—**B7-1 (CD80)**, **B7-2 (CD86)**, and **4-1BBL (CD137 ligand)**—on the surface of target cells, typically tumor cells. This approach is used in the context of gene therapy or cell-based cancer vaccine strategies, not as a formulated pharmaceutical drug. The combination is designed to provide synergistic costimulatory signals to T cells: B7-1 and B7-2 engage CD28 and CTLA-4 to modulate T cell activation, while 4-1BBL binds to 4-1BB (CD137) to enhance T cell proliferation, survival, and cytotoxic function. Preclinical studies show that tumor cells engineered to express all three molecules induce potent cytotoxic T lymphocyte responses and long-lasting antitumor immunity, outperforming cells expressing only one or two of these factors. This strategy is under experimental investigation, notably in gene therapy approaches to hepatocellular carcinoma and B cell lymphomas.
