Overview

BA2101 is an innovative, long-acting human monoclonal antibody of the IgG4 subtype that targets interleukin-4 receptor subunit alpha (IL-4Rα). Developed by Shandong Boan Biotechnology (a subsidiary of Luye Pharma Group), it is designed to inhibit both IL-4 and IL-13 signaling pathways by antagonizing IL-4Rα. This dual inhibition regulates the Th2 inflammatory pathway, reduces eosinophil counts and circulating IgE levels, and addresses allergic diseases driven by type 2 inflammation. The drug is administered subcutaneously with an expected dosing interval of every 4 weeks—longer than other drugs targeting the same receptor. Indications under investigation include atopic dermatitis, asthma, chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps, prurigo nodularis, and chronic spontaneous urticaria. Preclinical studies demonstrated a longer half-life and higher exposure compared to existing anti–IL‑4Rα therapies[1][3][6][7].
