BA3311 is a conditionally active biologic (CAB) bispecific T-cell engager (TCE) being developed by BioAtla for the treatment of solid tumors. It is designed to simultaneously target the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) on cancer cells and the CD3 receptor on T-cells, thereby redirecting T-cell-mediated cytotoxicity to the tumor. The drug utilizes BioAtla's proprietary CAB technology, which is engineered to make the antibody conditionally and reversibly active specifically within the acidic tumor microenvironment (TME). This selective activation aims to maximize anti-tumor efficacy while minimizing systemic toxicities typically associated with EGFR-targeting therapies, such as skin and gastrointestinal side effects, by remaining inactive in healthy tissues. BA3311 is currently being investigated for indications including bladder cancer, pancreatic cancer, and triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC).
