Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Bacillus clausii CSI08 is a spore-forming probiotic strain developed by Deerland Probiotics and Enzymes (now part of ADM) and marketed under the brand name MuniSpore®. As a soil-based microorganism, it is characterized by its high resistance to gastric acid and bile salts, allowing it to reach the intestines in a viable state. The strain functions through immunomodulatory and antioxidant mechanisms, demonstrating the ability to attenuate pro-inflammatory responses and exhibit antimicrobial activity against pathogens. It has been clinically evaluated for its safety and efficacy in supporting gastrointestinal health, immune function, and the management of diarrhea in both children and adults.
