Overview

Bacillus subtilis + bacillus clausii is a probiotic combination consisting of two spore-forming, Gram-positive bacterial species. These bacteria are characterized by their ability to form endospores, which provides significant resistance to environmental stressors such as heat, gastric acidity, and bile salts, ensuring high viability upon reaching the intestines. The combination works by restoring the balance of the intestinal microbiota, competing with pathogenic bacteria for nutrients and adhesion sites (competitive exclusion), and producing antimicrobial substances like bacteriocins. Additionally, these strains modulate the host immune system by interacting with gut-associated lymphoid tissue (GALT). It is primarily used for the management of gastrointestinal disorders, including acute diarrhea, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, and inflammatory bowel conditions.
