Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Bacillus subtilis BS50 is a proprietary, spore-forming probiotic strain developed by BIO-CAT Microbials. Characterized by its robust heat resistance and pH tolerance, the strain is designed to survive the acidic environment of the human stomach to reach the intestines. BS50 has been shown to secrete digestive enzymes and microbiota-modulating molecules that support gastrointestinal function. In clinical studies, daily supplementation with 2x10⁹ CFU of BS50 significantly improved gas-related symptoms, including abdominal bloating, flatulence, and burping, in healthy adults. Preclinical genomic analysis has confirmed the safety profile of the strain, demonstrating an absence of known Bacillus toxins and virulence factors.
