BAH245 is an autologous, bispecific chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy developed by Essen Biotech for the treatment of multiple myeloma. The therapy is engineered to simultaneously target B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA) and CD19, two antigens frequently expressed on the surface of malignant plasma cells and B-cell lineages. This dual-targeting approach is designed to enhance therapeutic efficacy and prevent disease relapse caused by antigen escape, a common challenge in single-target CAR-T therapies. By binding to these specific antigens, BAH245 directs the patient's immune system to recognize and eliminate cancerous cells. It is currently in Phase 2 clinical development for patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma.
