BAH2472 is an autologous tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte (TIL) therapy being developed by Essen Biotech for the treatment of advanced or metastatic refractory lung cancer. The therapeutic process involves isolating naturally occurring T cells, specifically CD8+ and CD4+ subsets, from a patient's own tumor tissue. These cells are then expanded ex vivo to large quantities and re-infused into the patient, typically following a lymphodepleting conditioning regimen. The goal of BAH2472 is to leverage the diverse T-cell receptor (TCR) repertoire of the TILs to recognize and destroy tumor cells across the heterogeneous landscape of the malignancy, potentially overcoming the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment. It is currently in Phase 2 clinical development.
