BAH2473 is an autologous tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte (TIL) therapy being developed by Essen Biotech for the treatment of malignant glioma. The therapy involves the extraction of naturally occurring T cells (specifically CD8+ and CD4+ populations) from a patient's tumor tissue, followed by ex vivo expansion to generate a large population of tumor-reactive lymphocytes. These cells are then re-infused into the patient, where they are intended to recognize and eliminate glioma cells by targeting a broad spectrum of tumor-associated antigens. This approach aims to overcome the immunosuppressive microenvironment of high-grade gliomas. BAH2473 is currently in Phase 2 clinical development.
