BAH249 is an autologous tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte (TIL) therapy being developed by Essen Biotech for the treatment of advanced or metastatic refractory breast cancer. The therapy involves the isolation of T cells, specifically the CD8+ and CD4+ subsets, from a patient's own tumor tissue. These cells are then expanded ex vivo to large numbers and re-infused into the patient. The expanded TILs are designed to recognize and eliminate breast cancer cells by targeting a broad range of tumor-associated antigens. BAH249 is currently in Phase 2 clinical development, focusing on patients who have failed standard-of-care treatments.
